Weddings and Baptisms

SONY DSCSt. George’s happily celebrates weddings for straight, lesbian, and gay couples. Couples have chosen to renew vows, have new wedding rings blessed, and have their legal marriages performed elsewhere blessed at the church. Marriages to be blessed and celebrated at St. George’s must conform to the canons of the church and the requirements of the Diocese of Washington. We welcome inquires about having your wedding at St. George’s.

baptismBaptism is one of the two great sacraments of the church, and is a formal welcoming into the Christian family. Infants, children, and adults alike are welcome to be baptized at St. George’s, and these arrangements can be made with the rector. We hold with Episcopal tradition and celebrate baptism on one of the four baptismal days in our church calendar: the Easter Vigil and Pentecost, both in the spring, All Saints Sunday in early November, and the Baptism of Jesus in early January. Occasionally we will baptize outside of these dates if circumstances call for it.
