Warm Clothing Drive

warm-clothing-driveThroughout the month of November we will be holding a warm clothing drive to help the Prince George’s County School System meet the needs of newly arrived immigrant and refugee children who do not have clothing appropriate for our winter weather. You can help by contributing coats and jackets, new or gently used and clean, as well as hats, scarves, and gloves. The students range in age from 5 to 20, so sizes youth small to adult large are all welcome. Donations should be placed in the bin in the narthex. In addition, the school system would welcome Target gift cards which they can use to purchase other items students might need such as boots, socks, and uniforms. Target cards will be available for purchase during coffee hour and may be given to Donna or Randy Haselton or Peggy Alexander. Thank you for helping us support these new Prince George’s County students!

Gaywood School Supplies Drive

School started this week and St. George’s annual school supplies drive for for Gaywood Elementary School is winding down, but there’s still time to participate! We’re collecting items for students such as pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, highlighters, scissors, composition books, construction paper, glue sticks, graph paper, white board markers and erasers, and Post-Its, as well as printer paper for the teachers, and hand soap, hand sanitizer, and tissues. Donated items should be placed in the red tub in the narthex. Thank you for supporting the students of Gaywood!
