Many thanks to the 52 families that turned in pledge cards for 2020 as of last Sunday. We are off to a great start, but as the Vestry continues to plan the 2020 budget, we know some folks have not yet pledged. It’s a great help for us to know what our resources will be, so if you haven’t yet turned in your pledge card, please do so soon!
Pledge cards are available on the cabinets outside the office, or if you prefer, you can email our intrepid bookkeeper Ed Neuschler, firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the stewardship team: Dan Ryan, Anne Rowe, Zulma Santiago, or Carolyn Lassiter. Thanks!
Saint Nicholas Party
Mark your calendars for December 7 and bring your family to celebrate the life of St. Nicholas from 4-7 pm at St. George’s. This annual event will include fellowship, food, crafts, tree decorating, and, perhaps, a visit from St. Nicholas himself. The party is free and all are welcome. A sign-up poster at the church will be set up in early November.
So, you think you know who Mary, the mother of Jesus, was? Look again. You will have such an opportunity to explore each of the Scriptural references to Mary with our upcoming Bible Study, “A New Look at Mary,” beginning on November 25. We will gather at 7:00 pm each Monday evening through the months of December and January and conclude on February 3. To guide our way, we will draw on the insights of Elizabeth A. Johnson, author of Dangerous Memories: A Mosaic of Mary in Scripture. Johnson is a noted feminist theologian and author of numerous works on the communion of saints. If you are interested in participating, please contact Terry Doyle or Connie, the co-leaders of the study. Email contact: TerrenceDoyle@msn.com.
