Throughout the month of November, we will be holding our annual warm clothing drive to help the Prince George’s County School System meet the needs of newly arrived immigrant and refugee children who do not have clothing appropriate for Maryland winters. The International Student Counseling Office reports that registrations of new international students are up by at least 30% over last year; students are primarily from Central America but also Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan. You can help support these children and their families by donating new or clean, gently used coats and jackets (pre-school sizes through adult medium), as well as hats, scarves, and gloves. Donations should be placed in the bin in the narthex. In addition, the ISCO welcomes donations of Target gift cards which will be used to purchase other items students might need such as boots, socks, and uniforms; gift cards should be given to Randy or Donna Haselton. Thank you for your generosity!
