March for Our Lives – March 24, 2018 – Meet at Greenbelt Metro at 8:45 am

Thinking about participating in the March for Our Lives, a gathering of people who want action to limit gun violence? A group of St. Georgians will travel to the March and walk together. We have the opportunity to join the official Episcopal Diocese of Washington contingent, which will assemble at The Church of the Epiphany, 1317 G Street, NW, between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.  The Church is a short walk from Metro Center or Gallery Place.

If you’d like to join, we’ll be gathering at Greenbelt station, with plans to leave at 8:45 am for the March. The March officially begins at noon. Be sure to have your farecard ahead of time in case the station is jam-packed. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex where you can indicate your intention to join the group. Please check the St. George’s Facebook page for updates during the week.

Sunday, March 4 at 4 pm- Evensong Service at St. Andrew’s College Park

The choir of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, College Park is presenting a service of Choral Evensong on Sunday March 4 at 4 pm, and we are invited!  If you aren’t familiar with this service, it is a traditional Episcopal prayer service, in which most of the service is sung rather than spoken.  The St. Andrew’s Choir will sing pieces they are preparing for a Pilgrimage to sing in residency at Norwich Cathedral in 2019, including the Evening Canticles of Herbert Murrill in E. The service will feature a new setting of the Preces and Responses composed especially for the choir by Organist & Choirmaster David Houston.
