Five St. George’s teens will be doing a service trip to Queens, NY this July. To raise funds for the trip, they are selling tickets to a dinner to be held after they return, where they will serve dinner, tell stories and show pictures from the trip. The suggested donation is $15.00, but any amount is welcome. Thank you for your support.
Please join us for stimulating discussion with the ECQ book group. This month we are reading “Take This Bread” by Sara Miles. This spiritual memoir follows her journey from atheist to believer. Ms. Miles founded the Food Pantry at St. Gregory of Nyssa church in San Francisco, where the congregation lives the idea of communion by providing food to hundreds of families each week. It should be a great read and a chance to consider how we each might live our call to generosity and welcome in our lives and in our parish.
Our midweek service in the chapel is taking a summer vacation! The plan is to take the summer off and begin something new in September, which will be a bible study/reflection using Brian McLaren’s book The Road is Made by Walking. Speak with Connie+ if you have any questions.
